Prairie Capital Advisors, Inc. was founded by Kenneth E. Serwinski and Robert J. Gross. They had previously worked together at Merrill Lynch in the investment banking area serving closely held businesses. While at Merrill Lynch, they advised companies of all sizes, from small, privately held companies to large Fortune 100 firms. However, their passion was working with businesses in the middle market. They decided to leave the company and open their own firm in order to concentrate on this underserved sector. In 1996, Prairie Capital Advisors was born.
