Mr. O’Neill operates out of Prairie Capital Advisors' Boston office. He advises companies and principals on valuation and ownership transition issues specifically Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) formation and implementation. Services include feasibility studies, transaction financing and restructuring, fairness and solvency opinions, post-transaction cash flow analyses, and annual valuations.
Throughout his career, Mr. O’Neill has worked with business enterprises ranging from closely held companies, private equity funds, public companies and in international markets with multi-lateral lenders and on privatization of state-owned enterprises. Mr. O’Neill is a frequent speaker in forums around the country on topics covering ownership transition planning, ESOP Advisory, and valuation.
Mr. O’Neill has performed valuation and economic analysis services for clients in software, retail, manufacturing, distribution, energy services and infrastructure, utilities, telecommunications, transportation, and engineering and construction management.
Prior to joining Prairie Capital Advisors, Mr. O’Neill was a Managing Director at Valuation Research Corporation. There he worked with corporate clients and private equity funds and their portfolio companies on valuation matters, intangible asset determination, recapitalizations and transaction services. Mr. O’Neill was a Principal with the Consulting division of Bechtel Corporation, and the successor entity Nexant, managing the Transaction Advisory Services practice performing business sale/privatization analysis and value optimization reviews. At Bechtel, he designed and implemented an ESOP vehicle to facilitate privatizations of state enterprises throughout the Middle East. Additionally, Mr. O’Neill was a Managing Director for American Appraisal providing a range of valuation services, and prior to that was Vice President of Merrill Lynch Business Advisory Services working with closely held businesses and owners on liquidity and ownership transition issues.
Mr. O’Neill holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. Mr. O’Neill currently holds FINRA Series 79 and 63 securities licenses.
