Mark Rutledge joined Prairie Capital Advisors in 2016. He has performed valuation and financial valuation advisory services in a broad range of industries. Mark specializes in the valuation of businesses, business interests and tangible and intangible assets for purposes of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), gift and estate planning, strategic planning, financial accounting and reporting, litigation support and resolution, tax planning and compliance, buy-sell agreements, asset-based lending and insurance. Mark also performs buy- and sell-side financial analysis for transactions. As part of his focus on project management, Mark works to ensure seamless communication with clients, trustees and other service providers.
Additionally, Mark presents webinars for Prairie and theNational Center for Employee Ownership on various ESOP-related topics, including valuation and best practices for ESOP boards of directors. Mark has also served as an expert witness on business valuation matters.
Prior to joining Prairie, Mark was Director of Valuation Services at Smith & Howard. He performed financial advisory services for purposes of M&A, accounting and financial reporting, gift and estate, divestitures, small business loans, financing and collateral support, transactions negotiations, strategic planning, financial modeling, litigation support, and expert testimony. Before joining Smith & Howard, Mark served in valuation roles for American Appraisal Associates, Ernst & Young, Phillips Hitchner Group, Adams Capital, Inc. and Tidwell DeWitt, LLC performing valuations for a variety of purposes including M&A, divestitures, dissenting shareholder disputes, recapitalizations, buy-sell agreements, purchase price allocations, goodwill and long-lived asset impairment, bankruptcy, lost profits, damages, financing and asset-based lending support.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from the University of Akron. He also received his Associate of Applied Business degree in Data Processing.
