Prairie Capital Advisors delivers 300+ annual ESOP valuations for companies across the United States, supporting trustees and fiduciaries with independent, defensible valuation services.
As an employee-owned firm with deep ESOP expertise, Prairie combines institutional valuation rigor with real-world transaction insight to provide practical, well-supported conclusions of value.
Valuation Process
Whether you are a new ESOP company or existing ESOP company changing advisors, we have a measured approach to ESOP valuation. Our team will work closely with both the ESOP Trustee and company management to establish a clear timeline, align expectations and ensure an efficient process.
We place a strong emphasis on clearly communicating the key drivers of value, including operating performance, market conditions, capital structure and company-specific factors. Our goal is to help stakeholders understand not just the outcome, but why value has changed and what it means going forward. Clear communication, transparency, and education are central to a successful engagement. Our process typically takes 45–60 days in the first year, and 30–45 days for subsequent annual valuations.
ESOP Services Beyond Valuation Advisory
In addition to our annual ESOP valuation services, Prairie’s ESOP advisors are trusted partners that can add insight and specialized consulting depending on the needs of the company. We find that general ESOP education covering the valuation process and discussing value drivers is often needed as part of our services. Due to our wealth of ESOP knowledge and experience, we can also provide consultative advice to the Trustee and the company we are valuing. These topics can include acquisition impacts, ESOP sustainability and restructuring of existing credit or loans.
