Melissa Goetz joined Prairie Capital Advisors in 2018. She performs comprehensive valuations and provides financial advisory services to privately-held companies in a wide variety of industries, specializing in companies that have employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). Her experience also includes performing business valuations for Federal estate and gift tax purposes, buy/sell arrangements, family limited partnerships and succession planning. Melissa is a member of the Board of Directors of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA) and also serves on their Business Valuation and Litigation Support Task Force.
Melissa shares her expertise on ESOPs and valuation matters through Prairie’s webinar program and through speaking engagements at chapter conferences sponsored by The ESOP Association. Melissa co-authored a chapter on ESOP strategies in the book Exit Planning: The Definitive Guide, which was published inconjunction with the Business Enterprise Institute. Additionally, she co-authored an article for the American Towman magazine called “ESOP: Selling Out to Employees.”
Prior to joining Prairie, Melissa was a co-founder of KC&G Business Appraisal Associates, Inc. She was previously employed as a business appraiser with Kennedy and Coe, LLC, where she helped form the business valuation department.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS. She also holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in the state of Kansas.
