Prairie Names New Shareholders

OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL – April 26, 2022 Prairie Capital Advisors, Inc. (“Prairie”), a leading middle-market investment bank, has named Greg Cook, Tom DeSimone, Shaun McGehee and Franco Silva as its newest company shareholders.

“It is with great pride that we are announcing four new Prairie shareholders,” said David Diehl, CEO of Prairie. “Greg, Tom, Shaun and Franco have been top performers who have demonstrated their ability to live our values of integrity, respect, teamwork and passion.”  

With these new purchases, Prairie now has seventeen shareholders, including its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (“ESOP”). Prairie continues to support their long-term plan by encouraging the direct investment of its key managers alongside the broad-based ownership provided by its ESOP.  

Greg Cook, Director, joined Prairie Capital Advisors in 2014. He specializes in advising middle-market companies on financial opinions, mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”), ESOPs, corporate planning and other investment banking advisory services. Greg holds a Master of Science degree in Finance, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He also currently holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.  

Tom DeSimone, Director, joined Prairie Capital Advisors in 2011. He has extensive experience in advising middle-market companies on ESOP transactions (representing both companies and ESOP trustees), M&A, financial opinions, corporate valuation and other investment banking advisory services. Tom holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in the state of Illinois as well as a Master of Accounting Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also currently holds FINRA Series 63 and 79 securities licenses.  

Shaun McGehee, Director, joined Prairie Capital Advisors in 2004. He has extensive experience advising middle-market companies, shareholders and trustees on ESOP transactions, fairness opinions, leveraged buyouts, capital raising, M&A and other strategic advisory engagements. Shaun holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Loyola University Chicago's Quinlan School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Roosevelt University in Chicago. He also currently holds FINRA Series 63 and 79 securities licenses.  

Franco Silva, Director, joined Prairie Capital Advisors in 2007. He specializes in advising middle-market companies on M&A, ESOP advisory, fairness opinions and other investment banking advisory services. Franco is a past President of the Illinois Chapter of The ESOP Association. In addition, Franco holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Accountancy from DePaul University. He also currently holds FINRA Series 63 and 79 securities licenses.
